Landscape Integration

Harmoniously integrating the Heritage Project’s hills into the surrounding environment is no small task. To accomplish this, Graymont will be revegetating the three hills as they are built, in accordance with the Development Plan and the varieties of plants specified in the feasibility studies.

To establish how to best proceed when revegetating the hills (which species to favour, type of soil, growth times etc.), the company has adopted a continuous-improvement approach. Thus, tests will be conducted throughout the entire development phase of the project.

Revegetation offers several benefits. It reduces dust emissions; stabilizes the hills as they are built; and ensures the site’s rapid integration into the local environment, which makes it more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing.

Elevation

As shown above, particular attention has been given to making the hills stable and to have them appear as natural as possible.
