Grievance Management
In addition to the measures put in place to reduce the impacts of the development work, Graymont has set up a rigorous grievance-management system. This mechanism aims to not only receive and diligently address complaints but also to improve work practices to further reduce the impacts of the Heritage Project on the community.
Grievance Management Procedure
Citizens have four options when lodging a grievance: by phone with the Info-Heritage Line (450 248-3307 ext.8625); by email to info@projetheritage.ca; in person at the plant; or through the Monitoring Committee. Upon receipt, a grievance is recorded and transmitted to the relevant authority, which is responsible for identifying an appropriate solution.
The Monitoring Committee is also informed of all grievances. It reviews the handling of the grievance and the proposed solutions. The plaintiff is also contacted for a follow-up.
A report encompassing all grievances is periodically sent to local municipal authorities and to the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change.
